In 1938, civil engineers Sezai Türkeş and Feyzi Akkaya founded STFA, a company that has become a leader in Turkey’s construction sector, known for its innovations and contributions to the economy. Built on the strong friendship between Türkeş and Akkaya, who began their journey when the industry was dominated by foreign firms, STFA has led the way with groundbreaking achievements since the foundation of the Republic. STFA became the first Turkish contractor to undertake projects abroad with the 1972 Tripoli Port Construction in Libya, followed by landmark projects in Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Iran, Tunisia, Pakistan, Oman, Qatar, and India. Domestically, it completed major projects, including the 2nd Bosphorus Bridge, Ring Roads, and the Golden Horn Tunnels. With over 84 years of history, STFA has worked in 24 countries, delivering projects worth over $35 billion, with 70% of these projects being international.
