UXOcontrol was founded in 2016 in the Netherlands as a specialist company focused on unexploded ordnance (UXO) risk management for offshore energy, marine infrastructure, and coastal developments. The company was established to provide an integrated approach to managing explosive remnants of war (ERW), from desk-based risk assessments through offshore investigation, identification, clearance, and certification. As offshore wind development accelerated in the North Sea and Baltic Sea, UXOcontrol expanded its capabilities to deliver the full UXO risk mitigation process, including: Historical research and UXO risk assessments. Geophysical survey planning and target analysis. ROV- and diver-based UXO inspection and identification. Explosive ordnance disposal (EOD) and clearance. ALARP-based UXO certification for offshore construction activities. A significant milestone was its integration into the N-Sea Group, allowing UXOcontrol to combine its explosive engineering expertise with N-Sea's offshore survey, ROV, cable installation, and subsea construction capabilities. Today, UXOcontrol is 100% owned by the N-Sea Group and operates from offices in the Netherlands, the UK, Germany, and Poland, supporting offshore wind, interconnector, oil & gas, and port infrastructure projects across Europe. The company has been involved in several high-profile offshore wind projects, including Hollandse Kust Zuid, Dogger Bank, and Vesterhav, delivering UXO inspection, identification, and risk mitigation services to enable safe seabed construction.
